Weekend Division Playoffs:

Dragons vs. Outlaws on Friday, May 11th

The fourth seeded Dragons faced off against the third place team the Outlaws in the opening Weekend Division playoff game. The Dragons all-star top scorer Daniel Leblanc scored the first goal of the game hitting the back of the net after just two minutes and thirty one seconds of play. David Babin replied for the Outlaws less than a minute later at 11:43, with a power play marker, tying up the game. Outlaw and 43 goal man, Guy Mageau, grabbed the lead for his team with a power play goal one minute and three seconds later at 10:40. The Dragons Daniel Leblanc scored his second goal of the game less than a minute after that at the 9:48 mark resulting in 2-2 score. Both teams scored a combined total of four goals in just 2:41 of play.

 

Marcel Poirier swung the balance in the Dragons favor with a goal at 8:14 giving his team the 3-2 lead. After the flurry of scores, remarkably, no more goals were scored the rest of the period.

 

Outlaws all-star Kelby Smith not only tied up the game at three apiece with a huge shorthanded goal at the 8:38 mark of the second period, but he also gave his team the lead with another goal at the 8:08 mark, just thirty seconds later. Outlaws David Babin added yet another goal just moments after at 7:56 which gave his team a two goal, 5-3 lead.

 

Kelby Smith opened the final frame with his third and hat trick goal of the night on the power play scoring just one minute and twenty three seconds into the third period. Ryan Michel added one more power play goal for the Outlaws to create a 7-3 lead with 8:29 left in the game. The Dragons never relented the rest of the way however the Outlaws denied their comeback attempt and held on to the four goal lead for the great 7-3 playoff victory.

 

Daniel Leblanc was the Dragons player of the game as he netted two big goals. The Outlaws player of the game was Kelby Smith who turned in an outstanding hat trick and two assist performance for a total of five points. Fellow Outlaw Guy Mageau had an awesome five point night as well with one goal and four assists.

 

Dragons goalie Matt Waldorf made some big stops as he turned away 20 shots on the night. The Outlaws goaltender, Rob O'Donnell, stopped everything after the first period as he finished with some great saves and an .893 save percentage for the win.

CAHL 2006-2007 All-Star Game on Saturday, May 5th

The CAHL 2006-2007 All-Star Game featured the top players of the Weekday Division and the Weekend Division in a battle for supremacy. There were 458 goals, 497 assists, and 955 points of combined firepower between the two squads which had to face up against a wall of 2310 saves and nine shutouts of combined top notch goaltending. The Weekday Division All-Stars were the eventual winners as they defeated the Weekend Division All-Stars by the score of 7-4.

 

Weekday Division 144 point All-Star scorer, Shamrock Geoff Zimmerman, possessing a lethal wrist shot, averaged a goal every 25 seconds as he scored an awe-inspiring natural hat trick in the second period during a span of just one minute and 15 seconds. Geoff Zimmerman was awarded the CAHL 2006-2007 All-Star MVP Trophy for his spectacular four goals, one assist, and five point performance.

 

Weekend Division All-Star goaltender Geoff Hwang's first save of the night, which was against a point blank shot, was a sign of the many more outstanding saves to come in his second half of the game. Hwang denied a one timed shot from the slot within the first minute of the third period, turned aside another one timed shot shortly after, which was later followed up by a great point blank glove save. Hwang would cap off the night with one more excellent save off yet another one timer with less than a minute to go in the game. Geoff Hwang stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced for a superb .952 save percentage and was awarded the CAHL 2006-2007 All-Star MVP Trophy for his incredible performance.

 

Weekday Division All-Star Brett Watts, the top scorer of the Ice Storm, and Kent Gillings formed a formidable trio along with Geoff Zimmerman. Brett Watts opened the scoring at just 2:32 into the game and assisted on three of Zimmerman's goals for an awesome four point night. Kent Gillings displayed his excellent puck handling skills throughout the match as he assisted on a pair of Zimmerman's goals.

 

Tim Robinson showed why he was the Weekday Division Shockers top scorer during the regular season as he scored a great goal late in the first period and notched an assist on the opening goal by Brett Watts for a total of two points. The Rockets second top scorer and shorthanded goal specialist Scott Bouwman scored a stunning goal in the first frame as he skated out from the corner and roofed the puck at the 1:22 mark. Point per game defenceman, Rocket Kurt Bransma, contributed two assists, one in each of the first two periods.

 

Shocker Scott Ellard, the Weekday Division leading All-Star goalie, turned aside 16 shots including a terrific save even without the use of his arm or goal stick as arm was behind his back while his stick got caught in the net during a scramble around the net. Shamrock goaltender Ryan Steel, who finished the Weekday Division regular season with the most wins and the second best goals against average, played the second half and stopped a trio of breakaways in just the third period alone including one with a perfectly timed poke check.   

 

Weekend Division All-Star, Brian Abildgaard, continued his torrid goal per game pace during the regular season as he led the offence with a pair of goals and an assist for a great three point night. Jets sniper and second top scorer in the entire division, Jason Wroblewsky, scored a goal early in the third period. Number 19, Piechotta of the Sofa Kings fired in a power play goal on a rare all-star penalty with just over five minutes remaining in the game.

 

Jets Chris Macgregor, the outstanding leading scorer of the Weekend Division, contributed an assist on Piechotta's power play marker. The Dragons top scorer Daniel Leblanc assisted on Jason Wroblewsky's goal and one of Brian Abildgaard's goals as well for two points on the night. David Hughes, the Pylons number one scorer and the Pylons 1.19 points per game defenceman Trevor Hughes, both assisted Pylon teammate Brian Abildgaard's first goal of the game.

 

All-star goaltender Martin Gregoire led the Weekend Division in the regular season with an astonishing 2.07 goals against average and displayed his skills once again during the first period with a great breakaway save. However an even better moment came later when he made a fantastic glove grab on a two on one break.

Hazards vs. Dragons on Friday, May 4th

The Hazards defeated the Dragons 8-0 on Friday night. Steve Runcie was the player of the game for the Hazards as he had a great three point effort with one goal and a pair of assists. Jon Mitdital rifled in two pucks while Randy Elson, Tim Barnes, Greg Schamps, and all-star Mike Bakker all finished with good two point matches on the strength of a goal and an assist apiece. All-star forward Josh Horning also contributed a goal and Corey Fillipazzi notched a pair of assists. Goaltender Kevin Feary made some big saves as he turned away all 18 pucks for the great shutout victory.

 

All-star Daniel Leblanc led his team with his play throughout the three periods. Goalie Matt Waldorf deflected 32 pucks on the night which included some good stops and 13 saves in just the first period alone.

Dragons vs. Jets on Saturday, April 28th

The Dragons lost 7-2 to the Jets on Saturday's second game of the night. Dragons player of the game Stephan Bocher led his team with two points setting up a pair of goals. Daniel Leblanc and Roy Canteras were the goal scorers on the night as Leblanc fired in one in the second period while Canteras notched his in the third. Goalie Matt Waldorf made some excellent saves as he deflected a total of 29 shots which included 17 in just the first period alone.   

 

Goaltender Geoff Hwang led the Jets with an all-star player of the game performance stopping 32 of the 34 pucks aimed his way for an impressive .941 save percentage. Dynamic all-star duo Jason Wroblewsky and Chris Macgregor combined for a total of seven points as Wroblewsky scored a pair of goals and assists while Macgregor had one goal and two assists. Don Sheriff fired in two big goals including a power play marker in the third. Paul Chateau and Jeff Farncombe also scored while Terry Hanson and Tim Buchan each picked up an assist.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Friday, April 27th

The Pylons won 5-2 against Dragons on Friday evening. All-star Brian Abildgaard led the Pylon offence with a pair of goals including the game winner. Steve Logrove, Martin Robichaud, and Kevin Donovan also scored. Dan Wahl and Nathan Vanderkuip contributed two assists apiece while Russ Bechtold and all-star defenceman Trevor Hughes each set up one goal. All-star goalie Martin Gregoire deflected 26 of the 28 shots aimed his way for an excellent .929 save percentage.

 

It was an all-star special for the Dragons as the team's three all-stars accounted for all of their offence. All-star forward Daniel Leblanc and all-star defenceman Benoit Robichaud scored the two goals for Dragons while fellow all-star Charlie Williams contributed an assist on Leblanc's goal. Goaltender Matt Waldorf made some great saves and finished with a total of 29 stops on the night.

Hazards vs. Dragons on Saturday, April 21st

The Hazards tied the Dragons 4-4 to cap off the Saturday triple header. Jon Mitdital was the Hazards player of the game scoring two goals and an assist for a great three point night. Number 12 Josh Horning had a big two point effort with one goal and one assist. Randy Elson also scored while Tim Barnes and Corey each notched an assist. Goalie Greg Bates made some great saves and a total of 26 stops on the night.

 

Dragons player of the game, Marcel Poirier, rifled in a pair of goals which were both set up by Charlie Williams. Captain Davin Johnsrud and Mark De Souza also scored while Roy Canteras, Carlos Zaramella, Benoit Robichaud each contributed an assist apiece. Goaltender Matt Waldorf deflected 19 pucks through the three periods which included some big saves.

Dragons vs. Outlaws on Saturday, April 14th

The Dragons came back from a 5-2 deficit late in the second period against the Outlaws to win 7-5. Mark De Souza scored the eventual game winner for the Dragons with just 2:39 to go in the third period. Just seven seconds later at the 2:32 mark, Dragons player of the game Marcel Poirier fired in a virtually unstoppable top corner laser beam to give his team a two goal cushion. That was Marcel Poirier's hat trick goal and fourth point of the night. Daniel Leblanc went from 39 to 43 points on the season in just one game as he fired in two goals and two assists for a great four point match. All-Star defenceman Benoit Robichaud scored a goal early in the third period while Christina DeSouza contributed an assist. Goalie Matt Waldorf stopped 23 shots on the night including a great save on a big one timer slap shot in the second frame.

 

All-Star and Outlaws player of the game Kelby Smith scored a tremendous hat trick rifling in three goals within just a 9:11 span in the second period averaging a goal every three minutes. David Babin had a great three point night as well scoring twice to go along with an assist. Guy Mageau, Brad MacDonald, Lyndon Pippin, and Ryan Michel all contributed one assist. Goaltender Rob O'Donnell made some nice stops including an awesome save on a point blank one timer shot in the third period.

Sofa Kings vs. Dragons on Friday, April 6th

The Sofa Kings were defeated by the Dragons 10-2. Captain and player of the game Chris Quon opened the Sofa King offence by scoring late in the second period. Brad Rogan also fired in a goal just 1:16 later with Garhett Piechotta and Ryan Day contributing the assists. Goaltender Jason Wist made some big glove grabs while turning aside a total of 27 pucks including 18 in the third period alone.

 

Charlie Williams led the Dragons with a superb hat trick, three assist, six point player of the game night. Marcel Poirier rifled in a hat trick as well in addition to an assist for an excellent four point match. Defenceman Benoit Robichaud was great at both ends of the ice as he finished with three points on the strength of one goal and two assists. Ed Powers, Dan Tinaburri, and Daniel Leblanc all had big one goal and one assist games. Christian Brix, Alvin Chim, and AJ Cheema each set up a goal. Goalie Matt Waldorf made some nice stops for the victory.

Dragons vs. Jets on Saturday, March 24th

Two of the Weekend Division's hottest teams faced off on Saturday night with the Dragons taking on the Jets. The Dragons defeated the Jets by the score of 6-3 and are now 6-2-1 in their last nine games while the Jets are 9-2-0 in their last 11 games with the only two losses coming at the hands of the Dragons.

 

Stephane was the Dragons player of the game with two goals including a great breakaway shorthanded goal late in the first period to give his team a 2-1 lead. Dan Tinaburri increased the lead to 3-1 by scoring a huge breakaway shorthanded goal early in the second period. Charlie Williams, Daniel Leblanc, and Ed Powers all scored a goal apiece with Charlie Williams adding an assist as well for two big points. Marcel Poirier had a pair of points too getting two assists on the night. Stephanie Wilde contributed a shorthanded assist.

 

Chris Macgregor tallied his division leading 58th, 59th, and 60th points of the season to finish with a great one goal, two assist, player of the game performance for the Jets. Jason Wroblewsky scored the Jets first goal of the game and finished with an assist too for a pair of points. Mike Wroblewsky scored a big second period goal to make it a one goal game at the time while Tim Buchan and Don Sheriff each contributed an assist. Goaltender Geoff Hwang made some great stops among his total of 36 saves which included 13 in the third period alone.

Dragons vs. Jets on Saturday, March 17th

Jason Wroblewsky once again led the Jets to victory with his second hat trick in as many nights. This time it was a 6-1 win over the Dragons. The player of the game Jason Wroblewsky has notched a combined total of 12 points in just his last three games. Chris Macgregor, Tim Buchan, Dan Saharchuk, and Gord Denny all had good two point nights. Chris Macgregor and Tim Buchan both had a goal and an assist while Dan Saharchuk and Gord Denny each got two assists. Mike Wroblewsky opened the scoring just 2:47 into the first period and number three Ashton Smith added an assist. Goalie Geoff Hwang stopped 16 pucks including some big saves.

 

Daniel Leblanc was the player of the game for the Dragons scoring his team's lone goal. Derek Verhegge and Charlie Williams contributed the assists. Goaltender Matt Waldorf made some good saves and deflected 22 shots on the night.

Dragons vs. Outlaws on Saturday, March 10th

The Dragons won 6-5 against the Outlaws. Marcel Poirier scored the game winning goal for the Dragons with just 3:44 to go in the match. Marcel got three assists as well to finish with a four point player of the game performance. Charlie Williams was awesome as well scoring a goal and four assists for a total of five points. Number 73 Daniel Leblanc had a big two goal game. Benoit Robichaud and Dan Tinaburri also scored while Derek Verhegge contributed an assist.

 

The Outlaws player of the game Guy Mageau scored his division leading 34th and 35th goals of the season and also picked up an assist on night for a total of three points. Lyndon Pippin and Luke Pascoe also scored while Todd Phillips and Kelby Smith each added an assist. Goalie Rob O'Donnell made 14 stops including a great pad stack save in the second period.

Sofa Kings vs. Dragons on Friday, March 2nd

The Sofa Kings lost the Dragons 8-4 on Friday night. Goaltender Jason Wist was the player of the game for the Sofa Kings for the fourth consecutive game this time finishing with 32 saves including some great stops. Clark Piechotta led the Sofa Kings offence with a big pair of goals. Brad Rogan had two points as well scoring a goal and an assist. Number 90 Kevin Wong also fired in a goal. Haley Neilson and Cole Piechotta each contributed an assist on the night.

 

Daniel Leblanc was the player of the game for the Dragons as he notched his third five point game of the season scoring one goal and four assists. Derek Verhegge and Charlie Williams were awesome as well with Derek netting a pair of goals and assists while Charlie launched in a hat trick by scoring one goal per period. Number 13 Dan Tinaburri and number eight Ed Powers both had a goal apiece. Stephanie Wilde and Benoit Robichaud each contributed an assist. Goalie Matt Waldorf finished with eight saves on the night for the win.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Friday, February 23rd

The Pylons defeated the Dragons 9-3 on Friday night. Defenceman Martin Robichaud was the Pylons player of the game as he fired in a goal and three assists for an awesome four point performance. Steve Wilson and Brian Abildgaard had great four point nights as well with Steve scoring a pair of  goals and assists while Brian had four assists. Trevor Hughes, Kevin Donovan, and team captain David Hughes all had big three point games. Trevor Hughes and Kevin Donovan both scored two goals and an assist. David Hughes finished with the opposite scoring one goal and two assists. Russ Bechtold and Shawn Bellingham each notched an assist as well. Goaltender Martin Gregoire made some big stops on his way to a total of 19 saves.

 

Marcel Poirier was the Dragons player of the game for the second time in three games as he launched in a pair of goals. Right wing Christian Brix scored early in the second period to tie the game at two apiece. Team captain Davin Johnsrud, Carlos Zaramella, Daniel Leblanc, and Benoit Robichaud all contributed assists. Goalie Matt Waldorf deflected 32 pucks on the night including some great saves.

Dragons vs. Jets on Saturday, February 17th

The Dragons won 8-7 versus the Jets. Daniel Leblanc, Marcel Poirier, and Charlie Williams continued their dominant play for the Dragons for the third straight game. Daniel was the player of the game scoring a hat trick and two assists. Marcel notched a pair of goals and assists, while Charlie scored once and set up two others. Dan Tinaburri and Roy Canteras both made big multi-point contributions as well with Dan scoring a goal and an assist while Roy had two assists. Mark De Souza also scored and the trio of team captain Davin Johnsrud, Alvin Chim, and Stephanie Wilde all had assists.

 

Jason Wroblewsky and Chris Macgregor combined for a total of 10 points for the Jets. Team captain and player of the game Jason Wroblewsky scored a hat trick and one assist for a total of four points while Chris Macgregor fired in a goal and five assists for a total of six points. Mike Wroblewsky, Jeff Farncombe, Dan Saharchuk, and Don Sheriff all had big two point games. Don had two assists and the trio of Mike, Jeff, and Dan all had one goal and one assist. Tim Buchan also picked up an assist on the night. Goalie Geoff Hwang made some great saves among the total of 37 stops he came up with through the three periods.

Hazards vs. Dragons on Friday, February 9th

The Hazards were defeated by the Dragons 8-4. Player of the game number 69 Carl Pocock led all Hazard scorers with a great three point night scoring one goal and setting up two others. Mike Bakker had a solid game as well with two points. Ryan Elson and Tim Adams both scored while Tim Barnes, Greg Schamps, and Ken Price each contributed an assist. Goalie Greg Bates finished the night with 25 saves including some big stops.

 

The line of Marcel Poirier, Daniel Leblanc, and Charlie Williams was simply amazing for the Dragons. The Dragons player of the game Marcel, and number 73 Daniel each had a total of five points. Both players scored a pair of goals and three assists. Charlie on the other hand launched in three pucks for the hat trick and also got an assist for a four point night. The line has combined for a total of 39 points over the past two games with Marcel and Charlie each notching 10 points and Daniel netting nine points over the last six periods of play. Roy Canteras also scored while Gary Leblanc and Carlos Zaramella each set up a goal. Goaltender Matt Waldorf made a number of nice saves and turned aside a total of 21 pucks.

Dragons vs. Outlaws on Saturday, February 3rd

The Dragons and Outlaws tied 7-7. The Dragons are undefeated in the past two games scoring seven goals each time. Dragons player of the game Charlie Williams was outstanding as he finished the night with six points scoring a hat trick and three assists. Daniel Leblanc had a great game as well with a four point night scoring once to go along with three assists. Goalie Matt Waldorf turned aside 17 shots and made some nice saves in the match.

 

The Outlaws player of the game Guy Mageau was amazing scoring his first goal on a breakaway, his second goal on a top corner shot, his third goal was from end to end, and his fourth goal tied the game with just 40.3 seconds remaining in the third period. He also had a assist for a total of five points. Kelby Smith and Jason McKay both had big two point games. Kelby scored a pair of goals while Jason got one goal and one assist. Lyndon Pippin added an assist as well. Goaltender Josh Wildey made a total of 30 saves including some big stops on the night.

Sofa Kings vs. Dragons on Saturday, January 27th

The Sofa Kings were defeated by the Dragons 7-2. Clark Piechotta and Mark Boulton supplied the goal scoring for the Sofa Kings while Garhett Piechotta and Yan contributed the assists.

 

Roy Canteras and Christian Brix were awesome in providing the firepower for the Dragons. Christian launched in a pair of goals in the second period including the game winner and also contributed an assist in the third for a total of three points. Roy scored the first and last goals of the game for the Dragons and picked up an assist in the second for a player of the game performance. Mark De Souza was great as well in netting a pair of helpers and a goal. Daniel Leblanc finished with two big points getting a goal and an assist. Dan Tinaburri scored late in the first period to send the game tied 2-2 into the first intermission and the Dragons never looked back after that. Goaltender Matt Waldorf helped backstop his team to the win with 19 saves.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Friday, January 19th

The Pylons defeated the Dragons 4-1. Nathan Vanderkuip was the player of the game for the Pylons scoring the game winning goal with 5:50 left to go in the second period. Brian Abildgaard, Shawn Bellingham, and Martin Robichaud also scored for the Pylons while Steve Wilson and Kieth Hughes each picked up an assist. Goalie Martin Gregoire made 18 stops.

 

Derek Verhegge was the Dragons player of the game scoring his team's lone goal which was also his third of the season. Goaltender Brad Larson turned aside 25 shots on the night.

Outlaws vs. Dragons on Friday, November 24th

The Outlaws defeated the Dragons 13-8 in an offensive showcase from both teams. Ryan Aspinwall, the player of the game for the Outlaws, led his team with a hat trick and an assist for an excellent four point game. Carl Montminy also had an awesome night firing in a hat trick including the game winning goal. Luke Pascoe and Brad Wallis finished with great three point nights with Luke netting two goals and a helper and Brad getting one goal and two helpers. Both Guy Mageau and Nick Powell had big two point efforts with each player firing in a goal and setting up one. Steve Hamelin, Kelby Smith, Ryan Michel, Todd Phillips, and Lyndon Pippin all added a point apiece with Steve and Kelby scoring and Ryan, Todd, and Lyndon each contributing an assist. Goalie Rob O'Donnell turned aside 10 pucks on the night.

 

Alvin Chim was the player of the game for the Dragons scoring a hat trick and a pair of assists for an outstanding five point night. Mark De Souza had an awesome game as well with a total of four points getting two goals and two assists. Daniel Leblanc and Roy Canteras both had big two point nights with Daniel scoring a goal and an assist while Roy set up a pair of goals. Captain Davin Johnsrud started the Dragons offence with a goal just 1:27 into the game. Carlos Zaramella added a goal and Dan Tinaburri contributed an assist. Matt Waldorf made 24 saves in the match including 13 stops in the second frame.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Saturday, November 18th

The Pylons defeated the Dragons by the score of 6-1 to extend their winning streak to seven games. Brian Abildgaard was the player of the game for the Pylons for the second time this season scoring a hat trick. Captain David Hughes had an excellent night as well with two goals and an assist for a total of three points. Martin Robichaud fired in his second game winner of the year on a bullet slap shot with just 1:22 left to go in the first period. Nathan Vanderkuip, Craig Rollison, Shawn Bellingham, and Trevor Hughes each had an assist apiece. Goaltender Martin Gregoire reduced his goals against average to an incredible 1.57 and made some big stops such as his save in the third period against the Dragons forward Alvin Chim who went in all alone on him after receiving a great pass from Christian Brix.

 

Daniel Leblanc was the player of the game for the Dragons scoring the team's lone goal. Number 87 AJ Cheema contributed the assist. Goalie Rich Froes turned aside 28 shots including a great point blank glove save with less than a minute to go in the first.

Jets vs. Dragons on Saturday, November 11th

The Jets defeated the Dragons 11-1. The player of the game for the Jets Tim Buchan fired in a goal and led the team with his excellent positional play throughout the night. Goaltender Geoff Hwang stopped 32 of the 33 pucks rifled his way for an outstanding .970 save percentage. Jason Wroblewsky and Jeff Farmlombe were both incredible with each player scoring a hat trick and an assist. Jason's first of three goals was also the game winner. Don Sheriff, Chris Macgregor, and Trevor Nelson all had very good two point efforts. Don scored a pair of goals including a power play marker late in the second frame while Trevor got two assists and Chris had one of each. Mike Wroblewsky also netted a goal in the match.

 

Captain Davin Johnsrud was the player of the game for the Dragons setting up his team's lone goal at the 4:19 mark of the second period which was scored by Mark De Souza, his second of the season. Matt Waldorf made a total of 29 saves including some big stops in each of the three periods.

Dragons vs. Outlaws on Friday, November 3rd

The Dragons lost to the Outlaws by the score of 7-5. Daniel Leblanc, the player of the game for the Dragons, fired in a pair of big goals. Ed Powers also had a great two goal night while AJ Cheema scored once. Derek Verhegge, Charlie Williams, and Dan Tinaburri each contributed an assist. Goalie Rich Froese made a total of 19 saves in the match including stopping 11 of the 12 shots aimed his way in the first period.

 

Mike Blunderfield led the Outlaws offence with a player of the game three point effort scoring twice, including the game winner, and an assist. Guy Mageau was awesome as well notching two goals and two assists for a total of four points. Brad Wallis, Luke Belfry, and Luke Pascoe all got big two point games. Brad and Luke both got a goal and an assist. Luke finished with two helpers. Goaltender Rob O'Donnell turned aside 11 shots in the match.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Friday, October 27th

The Pylons Captain and player of the game David Hughes led his team to a 7-1 victory over the Dragons scoring a goal in every period for the hat trick. Steve Wilson was awesome as well firing in two goals and two assists for a four point night. Both Martin Robichaud and Brian Abildgaard had big two point games with each player netting a goal and a helper. Shawn Bellingham and Craig Rollison contributed an assist apiece. Goalie Martin Gregoire lowered his season goals against average to a fantastic 1.75 by allowing only one goal on the night.

 

Number 11 Roy Canteras, the player of the game for the Dragons, scored his team's lone goal late in the first period. Carlos Zaramella picked up the assist. Goaltender Matt Waldorf finished the night with 28 saves including 13 stops in the second frame alone.

Dragons vs. Jets on Friday, October 20th

The Dragons were defeated 9-2 by the Jets. Charlie Williams, the player of the game for the Dragons, scored his second goal of the season 52 seconds into the third period to make it a 2-5 game. Mark De Souza also netted a goal and Gary Leblanc got an assist. Goalie Matt Waldorf started the game by turning aside 12 of the 13 he faced in the first frame for a great .923 save percentage and eventually finished with a total of 25 saves.

 

Chris Macgregor led the Jets with a superb five point player of the game performance scoring one goal and four assists. Don Sheriff was also incredible scoring a hat trick and firing in a total of four goals. Both Jeff Farmlombe and Ashton Smith finished with great three point nights, Jeff got two goals and one assist while Ashton finished with one goal and two helpers. Denny Englehart also scored a goal and Paul Chateau, Mike Wroblewsky, and goalie Geoff Hwang picked up an assist apiece. Geoff Hwang had another big game in net as he deflected away all 12 shots in the first and completed the night with 21 saves.

Outlaws vs. Dragons on Saturday, October 14th

The Outlaws won 5-2 against the Dragons. Both goalies were the players of the game as they faced a combined total of 63 shots. Goalie Rob O'Donnell, the player of the game for the Outlaws, made 23 saves and finished with a great .920 save percentage. Number 10 Guy Mageau fired the game winner for the Outlaws with less than two minutes to go in the second frame and also contributed an assist in the third for a total of two points. Alex Engels, Jason McKay, Todd Phillips, and Luke Belfry all scored a goal apiece. Mike Blunderfield got two big assists on the night and Lyndon Pippin also added a helper.

 

The Dragons player of the game for the second consecutive week, goaltender Matt Waldorf, stopped all 11 shots aimed his way in the first period, made 13 saves in the second, and topped it off with nine more save in the third for a total of 33 saves in the match. The double "A" duo of AJ Cheema and Alvin Chim provided the offence for the Dragons with AJ scoring the two goals and Alvin assisting on both.

Pylons vs. Dragons on Saturday, October 7th

The Pylons won 7-1 versus the Dragons. Number 95 Kevin Donavan, the player of the game for the Pylons, led all scorers with an excellent three point night scoring two goals, including the game winner, and an assist. Steve Wilson also had a great two goal game scoring in each of the last two periods. Pylons Captain David Hughes finished the night with two big points netting a goal late in the second period and also an assist earlier in the game. Dan Wahl got a goal by opening the scoring with 4:05 left in the first to make it a 1-0 game. Neil Hughes also scored getting his goal midway through the second period. Trevor Hughes and Russ Bechtold each picked up an assist. Goalie Martin Gregoire got an assist and also made a great glove save late in the third period.

 

The Dragons player of the game goalie Matt Waldorf was fantastic in facing 33 shots and made some huge glove and pad saves throughout the game including 11 saves in each of the first two periods. Charlie Willams led the Dragons offensively with a goal halfway through the third period.
