Gorillas vs. Potters on Monday, April 30th

The Gorillas were defeated by the Potters 13-4 on Monday night. Sam Borhot led the Gorillas with a great two goal player of the game effort. Jordan Friesen had scored one goal and set up two others for three big points. Christian Steingart also had a pair of assists while James Emery contributed a goal. Goaltender James Ong made a great save on a point blank shot which was set up from behind his net in the first period. Ong finished the match with 14 stops.

 

Jeff Bourassa led the Potters with an amazing six goal, two assist, eight point player of the game performance which included the game winner and a power play marker. Potters goalie Chris Smishek had some memorable saves including a first period split save on a breakaway however his best stop was simple incredible and occurred in the third period against breakaway deke when he put down his arm at the last moment along the goal line to stifle the puck. Number 17 Dave Maskwa had a huge four goal night while Greg Bergeron amassed an outstanding total of seven points on the strength of six assists and one goal. Captain Brendan Engdahl had an awesome four point match with a pair of goals and assists. Kirk Ringuette tallied four big points too as he set up four goals on the night.

Potters vs. Shamrocks on Monday, April 23rd

The Potters lost to the Shamrocks 9-2. Goalie and Potters player of the game, Chris Smishek, made numerous awesome stops such as his second period excellent glove grab on a shot from the slot and another glove save on a breakaway later in the period. Chris didn't stop in the third period and made another memorable huge save on a cross ice one timer with his pad. Dave Maskwa and Kevin Demyon scored the two Potter goals which were assisted by captain Brendan Engdahl and Brandon Gramlich.

 

Shamrocks player of the game, goaltender Ryan Steel, was great especially during a second period penalty kill when he made a huge kick save which was followed up by a tremendous diving glove save on the rebound chance. Geoff Zimmerman scored goal number 80, 81, and 82 of his spectacular season and contributed three assists as well for a total of six points. Number 27 Kent Gillings notched an assist and rifled in an awesome hat trick which included a pair of special teams goals: a power play and a shorthanded goal. Cody Hull had a great two goal and one assist game. Douglas MacLean also scored with less than a minute to go in the second frame. Chad Shoemaker added a pair of assists while Chad Larson, Duncan MacLean, and Aaron Lynn each picked up one.

Potters vs. Ice Storm on Monday, April 16th

The score was tied 4-4 late in the third period and Potter Kirk Ringuette's penalty had just expired. That was when Jeff Bourassa passed the puck over to Kirk Ringuette and just a moment later Kirk sent a perfect feed to Ryan Shand who then buried the puck to take a 5-4 lead with just 1:31 left on the clock. However, the Ice Storm did not relent and pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. The Potters were able to hold off the Ice Storm for the final 91 seconds for the exciting 5-4 victory.

 

Kirk Ringuette also set up another goal earlier in the game to finish with a big two point night. Kevin Demyon had a pair of assists as well while Chad Cox notched one goal and one assist. Dave Maskwa scored twice to go along with an assist for a great three point player of the game effort. Brendan Engdahl contributed a goal in the second frame. Goalie Joseph Low made some nice butterfly saves in the win.

 

Ice Storm goaltender Derrick was his team's player of the game as he made one great save after another for a total of 41 stops including breakaways saves in each of the last two periods. Brett Watts finished with three big points scoring one goal and two assists. Nick Oriold fired in a pair of goals while Shaughn McAuliffe got one goal and one assist. Martin Robichaud notched two helpers and Jason Petelski and Patrick Lauzon each got one.

Rockets vs. Potters on Wednesday, April 11th

The Rockets defeated the Potters by the score of 8-6. Larry Gelean topped all Rockets with an excellent hat trick and one assist for a total of four points. Scott Bouwman had a great four point game too with one goal and three assists. Steve Brandon scored a pair of goals while Cody Feenstra and Scott Bergen each fired in one. Eric Havinga finished with three big assists. Jason Upton and Steven Havinga both contributed one helper apiece.

 

Brandon Gramlich led the Potter firepower with a great four point night scoring two goals and two assists. Dustyn Auramenko launched in a pair of goals as well while Greg Bergeron and Jeff Bourassa each rifled in one puck on the night. Tyler Bohn set up a total of three goals.

Potters vs. Reapers on Wednesday, April 4th

The Potters, who were without a goalie, were defeated by the Reapers 8-3. Player of the game Greg Bergeron topped all Potters with a pair of goals. Chad Cox also had a big game with a goal and an assist. Tyler Bohn and Kirk Ringuette each contributed a helper as well.

 

Goaltender Bruce Rice was the player of the game for the Reapers as he finished with a total of 30 saves which included a number of great stops throughout the game. Domenic Niro and Terry Williston both had hat tricks for the Reapers. Terry Williston also picked up an assist for a total of four points. Jamie Ryan and Steve Dand scored as well. Daniel Wallace and Peter Donahoe each had a pair of assists while Joe Nitychoruk and Daniel Straeten both notched one.

Shockers vs. Potters on Wednesday, March 28th

The Shockers defeated the Potters 9-2. Adam Giesbrecht topped all Shocker players with an awesome four goal player of the game effort. Cody Miller had a great game as well with a pair of goals. Carson Papke, Curtis Foss, Riley Haugen, and Daniel Swyripa all notched a goal apiece. Carson also picked up an assist for a total of two points. Matt Patterson, Andrew Knouse, Tyler Richardson, Tim Robinson, Eric Tang set up a combined total of eight goals. Matt Patterson had three assists while Andrew Knouse had two. Tyler Richardson, Tim Robinson, and Eric Tang all had one assist. Goaltender Scott Ellard stopped 24 of the 26 shots aimed his way to increase his leading save percentage even further, all the way up to the .899 mark.

 

Greg Bergeron was the Potters player of the game as he led his team and scored a goal in the second period. Kevin Demyon also scored while Jason Villeneuve and Jeff Bourassa were the setup men.

Potters vs. Shamrocks on Monday, March 19th

The Potters lost to the Shamrocks 9-5 on Monday night. Goaltender Joseph Low was the Potters player of the game and turned aside 13 pucks in the first period, 14 in the second, and another 14 in the third. Joseph Low got an assist as well and finished with a total of 41 stops including many awesome glove saves throughout the night. Chad Cox led the Potter offence with an excellent four point effort scoring one goal and three assists. Kevin Demyon and Greg Bergeron both had great three point nights with Kevin netting a pair of goals and an assist while Greg notched one goal and two assists. Jeff Bourassa had a big one goal and one assist match. Number 24 Jason Villeneuve contributed an assist on the Potters first goal of the night.

 

Shamrocks player of the game Geoff Zimmerman, and BJ Hamilton were both incredible as each player fired in four goals. Geoff contributed two assists as well for a fantastic six point night. Chad Shoemaker had two points scoring his 19th goal and 22nd assist in just his 21st game. Josh Hamill, John Fisher, Duncan MacLean, Cody Hull, and Murray Kavanaugh combined for a colossal total of 12 assists. Josh Hamill and John Fisher both had three assists while Duncan MacLean, Cody Hull, and Murray Kavanaugh got a pair apiece. Goalie Ryan Steel had another 20 plus save win filled with some big stops.

Gorillas vs. Potters on Tuesday, March 13th

The Gorillas lost to the Potters 8-4. Gorilla team captain Spencer Wood led his team's offence with a great two goal and one assist player of the game performance. Brock Anderson and Sean McClaughlin also scored while Sam Borhot, Cory Benjamin, Christian Steingart each contributed an assist. Goalie James Ong deflected 26 pucks on the night including some good stops.

 

Chad Cox topped all Potters' scorers with an excellent two goal and two assist four point night. Kevin Demyon, Jeff Bourassa, Brandon Gramlich, Dustyn Auramenko, and Tyler Bohn all had good two point games. Kevin Demyon scored a pair of goals, Jeff Bourassa and Brandon Gramlich each had a goal and an assist, while Dustyn Auramenko and Tyler Bohn both picked up two assists. Greg Bergeron and Kirk Ringuette scored a goal apiece on the night. Goaltender Joseph Low finished with some big stops and turned aside a total of 12 shots for the win.

Blues vs. Potters on Tuesday, March 6th

The Blues lost to the Potters 6-3. Joe Reynolds was the Blues player of the game leading the way with a goal and an assist for a big two point night. Chris Martyniuk got things going with the first goal half way through the first frame and Jorden VanCamp scored in his second straight match. Chad Bolger added an assist and now has three in just his past two games. Goaltender Josh Wildey made 24 saves including stopping all 10 shots fired his way in the second period.

 

Jason Villeneuve was awesome for the Potters with a player of the game hat trick performance. Ian Wagner, Kevin Demyon, and Chad Cox all launched in a puck on the night while Ian added an assist too for a pair of points. Brandon Gramlich had a two point night as well with two assists and now has a total of five points in just his past two games. Team captain Brendan Engdahl and Greg Bergeron each contributed an assist. Goalie Chris Smishek made some big stops and finished with 13 saves.

Potters vs. Ice Storm on Monday, February 26th

The Potters defeated the Ice Storm 9-5 to take over third place in the standings.

Potters' leading goal scorer Jason Villeneuve opened the scoring with an early breakaway goal just 35 seconds into the match. Ian Baskob was the Potters player of the game as he amassed an outstanding total of seven points on two goals and five assists. Brandon Gramlich, Jeff Bourassa, Greg Bergeron, and Dustyn Auramenko all had big three point efforts with the trio of Brandon Gramlich, Jeff Bourassa, and Greg Bergeron each netting a pair of goals and an assist while Dustyn Auramenko had the opposite with one goal and a pair of assists. Kirk Ringuette and Nathan MacDonald both had two helpers apiece. Goaltender Chris Smishek turned aside 21 pucks on the night including some big stops.

 

Jason Petelski was the Ice Storm player of the game for the second straight match scoring a pair of goals giving him a total of five goals over the past two games. Brett Watts had a two point game as well notching a pair of assists. Martin Robichaud, Nick Oriold, and Blake Mihalic all scored a goal while Chris Sawchuk, Patrick Lauzon, and Kyle Myden each had an assist.

Rockets vs. Potters on Wednesday, February 21st

The time was ticking away in the third period and the score was still deadlocked at two apiece. That was when with less than two minutes to go Greg Bergeron of the Potters scored his second goal of the night and 11th of the season at the 1:51 mark on an even strength goal assisted by team top scorer Chad Cox. The Potters defence and goalie Chris Smishek preserved the one goal lead for the remaining 111 seconds for the big 3-2 win.   

 

Number 24 Jason Villeneuve also made a big contribution for the Potters scoring a goal and an assist. Kevin Demyon and Brandon Gramlich also came up with assists. Goalie and Potters player of the game Chris Smishek stopped 24 of the 26 pucks fired his way for an awesome .923 save percentage.

 

The Rockets top scorer Steve Brandon scored his 39th goal of the season moving him to just 11 from goal number 50. Scott Bergen also scored while Mike Parton and Scott Bouwman each picked up assists. Goaltender Phil Bonk  was the player of the game for the Rockets coming up with some great saves and turning aside 18 shots on the night.

Potters vs. Reapers on Tuesday, February 13th

The Potters won 8-3 against Reapers. The Potters player of the game Chad Cox scored twice including the game winning goal and also notched an assist. Adam Engdahl rifled in a hat trick and a helper for a total of four points. Jason Villeneuve scored as well netting a pair of goals. Dustyn Auramenko also got a goal while Doug Engdahl contributed three assists. Team captain Brendan Engdahl added an assist. Goalie Chris Smishek finished with some solid saves and deflected a total of 14 shots in the win.

 

Reapers captain, and last season's MVP and two-time Top Scorer Trophy winner, Domenic Niro led his team's offence with a pair of goals. Defenceman Terry Williston opened the scoring in the game giving his team the early 1-0 lead. Jamie Ryan, Joe Nitychoruk, and Daniel Straeten each picked up an assist. Defending Top Goalie Trophy and Playoff MVP Trophy winner Tyler Corrigall turned aside a total of 32 shots including some great saves on the night.

Shockers vs. Potters on Wednesday, February 7th

The Shockers were down 4-3 to the Potters with less than five minutes remaining in the game when Daniel Swyripa scored at the 4:06 mark to tie the game 4-4. Just two minutes and eight seconds later, Shockers captain and player of the game Brett Borgland scored to give his team a 5-4 lead. The Shockers hung on to the one goal margin for the final 1:58 to take the win and regain their status as the top place team in the standings.

 

Shocker Daniel Swyripa not only scored the late game tying goal but also assisted on the Brett Borgland's game winning goal to finish with two vitally important points. Tim Robinson had a two point night as well getting a goal and an assist. Shawn Kraft and Jesse McLean scored the other two Shocker goals while the trio of Cody Miller, Carson Papke, and Riley Haugen all contributed an assist apiece. Goaltender Scott Ellard made 17 saves on the night.

 

Goaltender Chris Smishek was the Potters player of the game as he turned aside 22 pucks including some big stops. Greg Trischuk, Jason Villeneuve, Greg Bergeron, and Dustyn Auramenko were the goal scorers for the Potters. Dustyn also picked up an assist to finish with a big two point effort.

Potters vs. Shamrocks on Monday, January 29th

The Potters lost to the Shamrocks 7-2 on Monday night. Potters captain and player of the game Brendan Engdahl set up his team's two goals which were scored by Ian Wagner and Greg Bergeron. Number 33 Brandon Gramlich added an assist and goalie Chris Smishek made 27 saves in the match.

 

Shamrock captain Geoff Zimmerman scored two goals and two assists to break the regular season scoring record of 72 points set by Domenic Niro and Steve Atkinson. Geoff now has 76 points on the strength of 46 goals and 30 assists. Kent Gillings and Chad Shoemaker had great four point nights as well with Kent firing in a hat trick and an assist while Chad had the opposite with three assists and one goal. John Fisher also scored and Cody Hull, Kevin Hamm, Lanny McConnel, and Chad Larson all contributed assists. Goaltender Ryan Steel was superb between the pipes stopping 33 of the 35 shots aimed his way for an awesome .943 save percentage.

Gorillas vs. Potters on Tuesday, January 23rd

The Gorillas lost to the Potters 16-1. Number 47 Spencer Wood scored the lone goal for the Gorillas. Goaltender James Ong made 33 saves on the night.

 

Brandon Gramlich and Dustyn Auramenko both had four goal games for the Potters. Brandon also had two assists and Dustyn had one assist for a total of six and five points respectively. Chad Cox finished with a five point night as well and Brendan Engdahl, Jason Villeneuve, and Jeff Bourassa all had four point games. Ian Wagner had a three point night with a pair of goals and an assist while number seven Greg Bergeron got one of each. Ryan Shand also scored and Kirk Ringuette contributed an assist. Goalie Chris Smishek turned aside eight shots in the match.

Blues vs. Potters on Tuesday, November 21st

The Blues were defeated by the Potters 10-4. Chris Martyniuk was the player of the game for the Blues scoring once to go along with a pair of assists for a total of three points. Nick Paterson, Jamie Sexton, and Alex Fraser each fired in a goal with Jamie also getting an assist as well for a two point night. Both Ryan McMahon and Kevin Baragon contributed assists. Goaltender Josh Wildey deflected a total of 24 shots in the match.

 

Brandon Gramlich had a huge four point player of the game showing for the Potters scoring two goals, including the game winner, and two assists. Dustyn Auramenko also had a great four point game with four assists. Kevin Demyon topper all scorers with an awesome five point match getting two goals and three assists. Number 54 Jeff Bourassa scored a great hat trick netting the third goal with just 21 seconds left in the game. Kirk Ringuette had three points as well with one goal and two helpers while Ryan Shand got one of each for two points. Jason Villeneuve added a goal and goalie Chris Smishek finished the game with 13 saves.

Potters vs. Ice Storm on Tuesday, November 14th

The Potters were defeated by the Ice Storm 6-3. Chad Cox finished with two big points picking up an assist in the first and a goal in the third. Brandon Gramlich scored in the second period while Dustyn Auramenko and Greg Bergeron each contributed an assist. Goalie Chris Smishek turned aside a total of 20 shots.

 

Patrick Lauzon led the Ice Storm with a three point player of the game performance scoring the game winning goal and assisting on the two insurance goals after that. Will Omar had a great night with a pair of goals to start things off for the Ice Storm. Reilly Smith, Jason Petelski, and Shaughn McAuliffe all finished with big two point matches netting a goal and an assist each. Chris Sawchuk added a helper on Will's first goal. Goaltender Nate Kazimir had another very good night stopping 30 of the 33 shots he faced for a .909 save percentage.

Rockets vs. Potters on Wednesday, November 8th

The Rush Roofing Rockets defeated the Potters by the score of 4-3. Steve Brandon had his fifth straight player of the game effort for the Rockets with another great night scoring twice including the game winner to go along with an assist. Cody Feenstra had a great three point game as well with three assists. Scott Bouwman fired in a pair of goals while Jason Upton also finished with two points getting a couple of assists. Chaynne Klatt and Tim Ryskamp each added an assist. Goalie Phil Bonk finished the match with 14 stops.

 

Captain Brendan Engdahl was the Potters player of the game setting up two goals on the night. Kirk Ringuette, Kevin Demyon, and Dave Maskwa did all the goal scoring for the Potters with a goal apiece. Dustyn Auramenko contributed an assist while goaltender Chris Smishek turned aside 14 shots.

Potters vs. Reapers on Monday, October 30th

The Potters opened up week five of the season with a 10-6 Monday night win versus the Reapers. Chad Cox, the Potters player of the game, led all scorers with an incredible five point night scoring a pair of goals and a trio of assists. Kirk Ringuette, Brandon Gramlich, Ian Wagner, and Jeff Bourassa all had great three point games. Both Kirk and Brandon got two goals and one assist while Ian and Jeff each had a goal and two assists. Jason Villeneuve, Greg Bergeron and Ryan Shand also had solid games with two points apiece. Jason and Greg both finished with a goal and a helper and Ryan set up two goals. Dustyn Auramenko added an assist. Goaltender Chris Smishek turned aside 25 shots on the night.

 

Reapers Captain and player of the game, Domenic Niro, fired in a pair of goals becoming the first player in the CAHL to hit the 60 goal mark with his 60th and 61st career goals in only his 48th game. Daniel Straeten and Scott Kazmerik both had big two point games with Daniel netting two goals, including a power play marker, and Scott getting one of each, a goal and an assist. Peter Donahoe, Joe Nitychoruk, and Jamie Ryan all contributed an assist apiece. Tyler Corrigall was huge in net completing the game with an awesome 44 saves while facing an average of 1.3 shots per minute over the three periods starting with 19 shots in the first, 23 in the second, and 12 more in the third.

Shockers vs. Potters on Wednesday, October 25th

The score was tied at two apiece with less than two minutes remaining in the third period when the Shockers player of the game Riley Haugen scored the game winning goal at the 1:55 mark. The Shockers held on to win 3-2 over the Potters. Both Jesse McLean and Tim Robinson scored a goal and Brett Borgland and Sean Frank each added an assist. Goalie Scott Ellard finished with a very solid .909 save percentage turning aside 20 of the 22 shots aimed his way.

 

Goaltender and player of the game Chris Smishek deflected 17 shots on the night including some big stops throughout the match. Ian Wagner and Kevin Demyon provided the firepower for the Potters with each netting a goal. Jason Villeneuve and Chad Cox each contributed an assist.

Potters vs. Shamrocks on Monday, October 16th

The Potters were defeated by the Shamrocks by the score of 10-3.  The Potter's player of the game for the second straight match, Chad Cox, got two big points, a goal and an assist. Jason Villeneuve and Kevin Demyon also finished with good two point games, each netting a goal and an assist. Dustyn Auramenko added a helper. Goaltender Chris Smishek made 27 stops on the night including 13 stops in the first and 10 in the second.

 

Geoff Zimmerman led the Shamrocks to a second consecutive win with another player of the game performance scoring a hat trick to go along with three assists for a fantastic total of six points. Duncan MacLean, Kent Gillings, and Cody Hull all had great three point games. Both Duncan MacLean and Kent Gillings each got one goal and two assists while Cody Hull had three assists. John Fisher and Kevin Hamm tallied two points apiece, and Chad Larson, Brett Wandler, Josh Hamill, and Josh Stasyk each scored a goal. Aaron Lynn and Dale Lewko both contributed an assist. Goalie Ryan Steel deflected all eight shots in the first period and went on to complete the match with 21 saves.

Gorillas vs. Potters on Wednesday, October 11th

Goalie Chris Smishek made his 32nd consecutive save of the season to earn the second of his back to back shutout victories for the Potters. This time it was a 5-0 win over the Gorillas. The Potters player of the game, number 98 Chad Cox, was the team's offensive leader scoring twice to go along with two helpers for an excellent total of four points. Dave Maskwa and Ian Wagner also had big multi-point games with Dave netting two goals and Ian getting two assists. Jason Villeneuve scored the game winning goal at the 11:44 mark of the first period. Yvan Lagasse, Ryan Shand, and Kirk Ringuette each added an assist. The Gorillas player of the game, goalie Gregg Nordin, started with 13 saves in the first period alone and finished with a total of 28 saves on the night.

Potters vs. the Blues on Tuesday, October 3rd

The Potters defeated the Blues 6-0. Chris Smishek stopped all 17 shots he faced for the shutout victory. Greg Bergeron and Jason Villeneuve both led the way offensively for the Potters with two goals each. Kirk Ringuette also had a big night with three assists. Dave Maskwa made a very solid contribution with two helpers. Brendan Engdahl and Ryan Shand each added a goal and Chad Cox and Ian Wagner both picked up an assist. Blues goalie Josh Wildey turned aside a total of 26 shots including all 11 shots in the first period to keep the game a scoreless tie heading into the second period.
