Shamrock Josh Hamill took a wrist shot from the slot area at the 1:07 mark which found its way to the back of the net to regain the one goal lead for his team heading into the second period.

The Shockers were only down by one goal and started off the second period on a mission. Within the first 30 seconds the first Shocker shot rang off the Shamrocks goal post. They quickly jumped on the rebound opportunity however that shot just missed as well as it hit the side of the net.

Over the next 10 minutes the Shamrocks Geoff Zimmerman and Cody Hull  rifled in the next two goals to increase their hold on the game to 4-1.

Daniel Swyripa, who led the Shockers with five regular season game winning goals came through once again for his team with a big goal, just 24 seconds after the Shamrocks attained the three goal lead, to change it to a two goal affair with still over one period to play.

The Shockers goaltender Scott Ellard ensured that the deficit would remain at just two goals heading into the final period as he made a miraculous save on a Shamrock two man breakaway extending his right pad just in time to stone the deke attempt.

The Shockers made a valiant comeback attempt however the Shamrocks all-star goaltender Ryan Steel didn't let anything get past him in the final period even as the Shockers managed some short range chances and scrambles around his crease. The Shamrocks also added some insurance as Cody Hull launched in his second goal of the night, while Lanny McConnel and John Fisher each notched one goal to increase their team's lead to 7-2.
