CAHL Cup Champion Chiefs

Silver Medal Winning Tea Bags

The Tea Bags just defeated 2006-2007 CAHL Cup Champion Jets and also the Sculptures, who were on a 13 game win streak, and now were up against the top regular season team, the Chiefs, for the 2007-2008 CAHL Cup Championship.

The Chiefs wasted little time and opened the scoring just 27 seconds into the game. Kaylen Crowchild scored the first goal and went on to net the next two as well for the natural hat trick.

Corbin Crowchild, Kyle Dodginghorse, Kevin Starlight, and Jay T. Simon each contributed a goal too for the Chiefs. Kaylen Crowchild added two helpers as well for a total of five points.

The Tea Bags goalie Shane Michaud still came up with some big stops even though he faced some tremendous scoring chances.

Trevor Murl and Pat Guillou fired in the pucks for the Jets as C.J. Eagleson and Danny Tangen were the set up artists.

The Chiefs goalie Robin Whitney only allowed a total of two goals in the two playoff games to finish with a remarkable 1.00 GAA.

Brett Crowchild, one of the top scorers for the Chiefs during the regular season, continued his pace for the playoffs as he fired in a hat trick and a pair of assists and was awarded the CAHL 2007-2008 Playoff MVP Trophy for his excellent performance. Team captain Traves Meguinis was handed the CAHL Cup to celebrate with his team as the Chiefs skated off the ice as champions.
